Yesterday Don helped me install two nut plates I had forgotten in the rear fuselage as well as the bolts that hold down the front spar of the HS. To buck the rivets for the nut plates and to tighten the spar bolts I had to crawl all the way to the back of the fuselage. This afternoon at lunch Christine went to the hangar and helped me bolt the forward spar attach points to the fuselage. This was another two person job since someone needs to be inside to put a wrench on the nuts. There was one bolt that was only microns too close to the landing gear box to get the nut started. Just a quick cleanup pass with a #12 drill bit was enough to fix this. I bolted down and torqued the rest of VS. I then installed the elevator pushrod and assembled and torqued the elevator pushrod. |
