I spent a couple of hours tonight preparing several parts for priming and painting. I masked off the outside edges of the canopy for SikaFlex "Activator" and primer. I used the clecoed on skirt as a guide for the tape. I masked off the glare shield and areas around the instrument panel. I primed and then painted the glare shield. I used PPG black with some additive the store put in to make it flat. Whatever it was it didn't work - it shines.
I then painted the inside part of the glare shield as shown in the third picture below. I primed the canopy skirt. As you can see in the close up, there are lots of pin holes that I will need to fill.
