I have put this off long enough.
Tonight I fiberglassed the area between the lower cowl snout and the air filter box. I wedged in the block of foam that came with the kit after carving it around the edges with a very course rasp. I installed the lower cowl and this jammed the foam up against the cowl. I then drilled a 1" hole through the foam and then roughly shaped it using the curved rasp. Then with 60 grit sand paper I finished shaping it as well as removed the paint and primer from the inside of the snout. The I cut some fiberglass strips with the weave at 45 degrees and laid them on top of the foam. I put down three layers.
