It has been a while since I have posted anything to this log. I am 28 hours into phase 1. I am now flying with 150lbs of ballast (sand bags) in the passenger seat. I have flown cross country to the limits of my test area. Changes to the plane include a lock for the canopy, installation of the landing gear fairing cuffs, installation of a Garmin 496 and a little pinching of the trailing edge of the right aileron to get rid of a heavy left wing. Here is another plot of my cylinder head temperatures. I have a 3/4" wide strip of metallic tape across the #1 cylinder fins next to the baffle. These readings were taking while I was up doing a few stalls.
Here are some pictures of my trip to Georgetown. The first is of Lake Somerville. The second is of Yours Truly attempting to look cool in a fighter helmet. The third is of Bird's Nest airport near Austin. Back in the late 70's I made about 400 skydives there. In the late 80's I owned a Weedhopper ultralight which I kept in of one the T-hangers in the middle. The grass runway was recently lengthened. |
