Today I went to a lunch-time appointment at the Houston FSDO at Ellington field to apply for my Repairman certificate. These are the items I had to present:

  • This builder log. I had it on a DVD which I showed on my portable computer.

  • Driver's license

  • All airplane logs

  • Airworthiness certificate

  • Registration

  • Operating limitations

  • 8610-2 filled out as much as possible

  • Notarized 8130-12

All of these items were reviewed very carefully. On the log, the examiner was most interested in pictures of me working on different parts of the plane. The process took 2 hours.

The examiner was very polite but completely by the book.
