First (successful) flight! Today was finally the day. This morning at about 8:30 I took N188LC up. I orbited KDWH at 1700' for 52 minutes. I chose 1700' because class B starts at 2000'. After climbing to 1700' I throttled back to 20" (45% power according to the Dynon EMS) and cruised at about 140 KTS. After many times around I slowed to 85 kts and lowered the flaps. I compared ground speed on the GPS with the airspeed on the Dynon and both were close. I slowed to 65 kts. It did not feel close to stalling (no buffet). I then sped up, retracted the flaps and went around for a landing. I used 80 kts as vRef on final. I touched down at an almost 3 point attitude and it did not bounce. |
