After having just done this last night and with the lessons learned still fresh in my mind, I embarked on the riveting of the left flap. STep one was to rivet the rib to the back "spar" of the bottom skin. This time I put the factory heads on the inside and it turned out a lot better. Then I riveted the rib flanges to the skin. Then I riveted the top skin to the bottom skin. This is shown in the second picture.

I riveted the top skin to the ribs. I used a carpentry clamp wrapped in rags as a v-shaped holder to press the skin against the rib flanges. This is shown in the third and fourth pictures.

I riveted the FL-406A angle to the spar leaving the three end holes empty. Then I riveted the spar to the top skin, then the spar and hinge to the bottom skin and then the outboard rib to the skins and spar. Last but not least, I riveted the spar to the ribs using pull rivets.

The last picture shows why I didn't do anything with the inboard rib. I have a new one on its way from Van's. I was hoping it would be here today.

This went a little quicker than I expected. I decided to get started on the control rods for the ailerons.
