Today was kind of a basket case for me on the airplane building front. I went up in a Super Decathlon and did 3 spins, 3 rolls and some wheel landing touch and go's. I lucked out this time in that I had a great instructor in the back. I am also very very pleased that I didn't feel the slightest bit sick. Last time I was getting over the flu and I had come very close to losing my lunch. My plan is to do this once a month or so and when the RV8 is almost ready, to go take an RV transition class. My plan was not to prime the parts inside of the cockpit until everything was ready to be painted. My plan was to use a PPG wash primer and then paint everything in one felled swoop. I wave since decided on a hybrid solution. I clecoed on the side skins and then masked off the areas that will get painted. Then I removed the skins and primed the open areas with Akzo Nobel. Before priming I roughened up these areas with a ScothBrite pad and then cleaned them with Acetone. |
