Today I cut up some 2x8 and made it into "legs" for the fuselage. I drilled them and the temporary spars and bolted everything shown in the second picture above. I sized everything so that the upper longeron would be at waist level.

Christine's Dad Fernando came by and between us and Christine and Monica we tipped the canoe. We moved the fuselage off of the jig and put it onto a sawhorse while still upside down. Then we raised it up, Monica removed the saw horse and the we rotated it and set it down. Christine took care of the tail end. It seemed very heavy but I later weighed the whole thing and it came out to 60.5 under each "leg" and 15.5 under the tail (total 136.5 pounds). Even so, one more person for this operation would have made it easier and less risky.

The fuselage is really cool sitting there the way it is. I am really happy and relieved with how it is turning out. Without having done anything to it since tipping, it is within 0.1 degree of being perfectly flat.
