I fabricated the rear shoulder belt fairleads and I re-made the spar spacers. One part of the section on the fuselage says that the only important dimension of the spacer is the thickness while two pages later it says it needs to stick out 6 inches. I made both exactly 1 7/16" thick as per the manual.
Update: A very kind gentleman sent me an email pointing out that 1 7/16" might not be wide enough. I measured the spar and found it to be wider than 1 7/16". I think I need to add a shim. I don't know how thick it should be.
Update to update (1/4/2005): I emailed Van's to ask them how much of a gap there should be. They said none. It should be a tight fit.
