There is a rod/weldment that interconnects both flaps which the flap motor is attached. Both ends of this rod are held to the fuselage floor with two blocks. I think they are made out of nylon.

The first problem I encountered was that I had too much of the lower longeron sticking out and I had to trim it. To do this I took out the seat belt attach points and cut the longerons down with my Dremel tool with a cutting wheel. When I finished I cleaned up the area with Acetone and then primed with Akzo Nobel.

I test fit the actuator rod with the blocks attached to the floor skins outside of the fuselage. I marked the holes and then drilled them through on the drill press. I then marked the forward holes 1-1/2" in front and then drilled them too on the drill press.

I put the floors back in and found the blocks didn't fit quite right with respect to the longerons and the "arms" of the actuator rod. I shaved off some of the blocks. First I tried the ScotchBrite wheel which only heated the block up but didn't take away too much material. I then tried a hand planer which worked a lot better.

I drilled the rear holes for the blocks in the skins to final size.

I riveted the gussets for the rear cabin bulkhead to the bulkhead.
