Christine and I finished up the rivets along the right of F-850. I then started on the hinges that hold the F-867 cooling air ramp. I must confess that I am still not sure about a couple of things with the ramp. By reading the manual including the parts intended only for the RV8A it is possible to get an idea of that the hinge under the right F-851 (shown above right) is for. It is used to guide the hinge pin to the hinge under the ramp during installation. Neither the manual nor the drawings (that I can find) mention how the pin is kept in place. I need to call Van's tomorrow about the interfering screws and bolts anyway (see 7/19/2006) so I'll ask about this as well. |
