Christine and I riveted the top front skin. I have convinced myself that it is OK to have done this now since all that remains of the wiring is power and ground to the radios. The wiring between the radios can be done outside of the airplane. We had to use CS pop rivets in the area inside of the landing gear boxes. I couldn't get my hand through the top hole and couldn't get a bucking bar anywhere close. Christine tried it for about 1 1/2 hours. She could get her hands in the holes but it was really hard to get a bucking bar into position. We were able to set a total of two rivets. I dilled the remaining holes to #30, countersunk them and installed pop rivets. |
