I finsihed masking and then primed the fuselage. For the record, one coat takes one pint of PPG K-36. As you can see in the second picture, I still have pinholes in the cowling. This was after two coats of thinned out epoxy.

PPG makes a filler/primer for fiberglass called K-38 that is probably better suited for a job like this but it only seems to be available (in the Houston area) in gallon or more quantities.
