I came home during lunch to paint. The winds were light and variable and nobody was around (no parked cars nearby) so I applied the red paint. I applied two coats to the fuselage and three coats to the canopy skirt. One probably would have been enough on the fuselage but the skirt needed more to hide a slight roughness and rivets showing through. Everything turned out OK.

In the evening I masked off the area around the "hood" and painted it black. I used only one coat since coverage seemed excellent.
