I clecoed the leading edge back on and then clecoed the tank ribs and skin into place. I had to do this in order to match drill the holes that go between the tank skin and tank to leading edge joining plate. I am sure I could have planed this a little better but then again my hand is getting a lot stronger from installing and removing so many clecos. I then cut the stiffeners that go on the bottom of the tank. As with the empennage kit the procedure is to cut between the notches on some pre-punched angle stock. I used a band saw and a Scotch-Brite wheel. Doing ti this way is quick and the quality is great. The last picture above is of the stiffeners clecoed in place. The plans show the flange parts in the front but say they can be the other way around to make sealing easier. Hmmh. I think I need to re-read it a few times and check on the web to see what others did. |
