Yesterday I received a flaring tool. I was going to bid on one on eBay but I noticed idiots bid it up almost to its new price There is definitely a market for used airplane tools.

Here are some pictures of the fuel filler ring all ProSealed up and riveted into place. The picture directly above is of the drain flange. Nothing spectacular here other than it is kind of cool the way the fuel cap sits flush with the skin. On thing about riveting with ProSeal is that it is hard to tell when to stop the rivet gun since the shop head is always under a blob.

The picture on the right is the back side of a plate I riveted in place to cover a tooling hole. The plans say an AD5 rivet can be used but I didn't have any around. The picture on the left are of a minor SNAFU. I drilled holes for a plate for the forward tooling hole not realizing that a re-enfgrcement plate covers it up..

Christine operated the rivet gun while I bucked on three center ribs. The skins were perfect when she finished.

So far a couple of things are becoming evident: The manual says to mix up several golf ball sized blobs of ProSeal at a time. I think one or two of these is plenty because it starts getting too hard to work with after 45 minutes or so. It takes me this much time to do two ribs.

Christine still likes the way its turning out.
