I guess it is kind of wierd that I am once again working on a wing. I had postponed adding the NACA vent until the very last momement which is now since I plan to start painting tomorrow.

I cut out a backing ring from aluminum sheet using the plastic scoop as a template. I used my center marked to mark where to cut the inside of the ring. I used the band saw for the outer part and a drill and sabre saw for the inner part. I deburred with a file and sandpaper.

I marked a center line on the backing ring and marked hole locations 1" apart.

I taped the plastic scoop to the wing and then the backing plate to the outside of the skin. After spending a fair amount of time trying to get it as centered as possible, I drilled the holes through the ring, skin and scoop.

I dimpled the holes I could reach with the squeezer and the rest (in the center) with the rivet puller. I then applied ProSeal to the mating surfaces and riveted it all into place.
